Its A Carnival

The concept of this piece was for a theme called "Carnival" sticking to that theme I decided to express what a carnival means to me. The clown would represent happiness, joy, basicly what makes you want to go to a carnival anyways. If you look, the clown has a tear, showing how even during the worst times he can still laugh and will continue to perform for the amusement of the people. The rainbow that comes out of his mouth represents how laughter spreads, when you hear someone laugh, you immediately wonder "what's so funny?", but when you are at a carnival you quickly run to where the laughter is, only to join the rest of crowd and laugh with them (like if you see a rainbow, you think of a pot of gold at the end and want to go to it). The textures I used for this piece were old, and stained, to give this a feeling like your looking a poster that has been up on a wall for a long time. I did this because most carnivals stay in one place for a week and move on, and alot of carnivals are very old but yet the feeling that you got from going to one remains for the rest of your life. It's laughter and enjoyment that moves through time, and even though the picture might fade away, you will always remember the "Carnival".
